Sandman´s Calling (CH, USA - Kufstein

Sandman's Calling stands for the vastness of the deserts, their music and the calling to search for mirages in the dunes. Shanir Ezra Blumenkranz (oud, gimbri, bass), Mathias Künzli (drums, percussion), Julian Sartorius - drums, percussion and Gregor Frei (clarinets, saxophone) are united by a long-standing friendship and the idea that music happens together and does not have to conform to any genre.

In 2019, they created compositions and recordings influenced by Tom Waits as well as Masada and Tamikrest. Ritual patterns, simple melodies and unexpected sounds draw a sand mandala that can transform into all shapes with the wind of improvisation.
