In the New Year's concert 2026, the Tyrolean Symphony Orchestra Innsbruck opens a treasure chest full of ringing stories and takes you into the magical world of fairy tales. Immerse yourself in imaginative audio adventures that paint enchanted fairy tale images. Among them is Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov's mystically romantic Skazka (Fairy Tale), which imagines a kind of mysterious enchanted forest where Hänsel and Gretel, Little Red Riding Hood, and the wicked wolf could all frolic together.
Furthermore, the journey leads into the dreamy world of Cinderella, whose story Gioachino Rossini brings to life with much musical charm in his overture La Cenerentola. Likewise, Pyotr I. Tchaikovsky's famous Flower Waltz from The Nutcracker conjures the splendid atmosphere of an opulent ball. And if they haven't died, they still sound today: The enchanting, shimmering tones of the "Waltz King" Johann Strauss (Son) or the "last operetta king" Franz Lehár must certainly be included in a New Year's concert.
Conducted by AINĀRS RUBIĶIS
