Bad Häring Mining Trail

In the footsteps of miners

Two pillars stand tall on the right and left of the entrance. The ravages of time have left their mark on the wrought iron gate which seals the entrance. Rust. Above the pillars in concrete is the mark of the mountain people. Two crossed hammers. The words ‘Perlmoser AG – Theresia Stollen’ can be read in the centre. A glimpse back at the days when Bad Häring was still a mining village. A trail which retraces the footsteps of the miners and mining.

From mining village to health spa

The idyllic village of Bad Häring is renowned far beyond its borders as Tyrol’s first health spa resort. The sulphur springs here are among the most healing in the Alpine region. The resort is based on a sunny plateau at the foot of the Pölven and is also renowned for its traditional past as a mining village. Hikers can submerse themselves in this past at 11 stations. A playground at the end of the trail invites visitors to experience the mining era in a fun way. Study shoes are required for the 4.6 km long, 2 hour circular route. The trail starts and ends at the church square in
Bad Häring. The mining museum in the Pölvenkeller basement vault of the Café Linde in the centre of Bad Häring is one of the highlights of the trail. Here a miner tells of his life and takes visitors on a journey into the past of the Bad Häring mining village.
