The festively illuminated ship of the Achensee Shipping links the lovingly designed Christmas markets in Pertisau and Achenkirch. The local Christmas markets are each an experience in their own right – but they all share a love for tradition, music, craftsmanship, and a warm atmosphere.

A Story Full of Tradition
The Achensee Shipping looks back on a long and eventful history. Pioneer Albert Wildauer, himself a captain, set the shipping on Lake Achensee in motion with the construction of a steam-powered ship. The "MS St. Josef," delivered in parts in 1887 and transported by horse to Pertisau, marked the beginning of a success story – and laid the foundation for the modern fleet that now delights guests from around the world.
