In 2015 the Unterwirt was awarded a Gault Millau toque for the 25th time in a row. The ingredients used in our kitchen come mainly from the culinary region "Untere Schranne", which Edmund Steindl co-founded, and also from other culinary regions around Austria. The same applies to our selection of wine. At Unterwirt you can eat traditional meals – such as a classic Sunday roast – as well as dishes from modern cuisine. We also serve vegetarian dishes. Our inn serves our guests à la carte, but naturally also with treats that are not on the menu – snacks, cake specialities or even a simple evening snack can be ordered. And if – just as an example – it just happens to be apricot season, then it's not unheard of that Edmund Steindl spontaneously goes into the kitchen to make fresh apricot dumplings.
