Tour description

With views of the snow-covered peaks of the Kaiser Mountains, the circular walk around Lake Hechtsee leads through a peaceful winter landscape – perfect for slowing down, switching off and simply enjoying the moment.

Starting from the car park at Lake Hechtsee, the path follows the wintery lakeshore. Snow-covered forest paths and quiet stretches along the water lead to the lake outlet, where a small bridge crosses the water. On the opposite side of the lake, beautiful views open up across Lake Hechtsee and towards the snow-covered peaks of the Kaiser Mountains before the circular route leads back to the starting point. An ideal walk for a relaxing winter outing in nature. Those wishing to extend the route can make a detour to Thierberg Chapel and enjoy wonderful views over the wintry Inn Valley. For anyone looking for an extra dose of winter freshness: the Seearena at Lake Hechtsee is freely accessible in winter and is also open for ice bathing. A dedicated ice-bathing area with open access and steps makes taking the first plunge into the cold water a little easier. Anyone who would prefer to try ice bathing with professional guidance can join a guided session as part of the Kufsteinerland Winter Experience Programme.
