Tour description

On this 167-kilometre long pilgrimage, you explore the entire region of the Kufsteinerland, as well as the neighbouring Bavarian Pre-Alps. You roam through the northern branches of the Chiemgau Alps, reach the Bavarian Sea - the Chiemsee - walk through the picturesque Rosenheim and hike along the foothills of the Wendelstein back to Kufstein. In the foreground are various Marian monuments that invite you to linger and come to rest. The length of the stage can be chosen according to your physical condition.

You start at the Marienbrunnen in Kufstein, which is known among other things for its golden Marien column. In total, the circular route covers about 25 stages. On these stages, you will pass some well-known and worth seeing pilgrimage churches and parish churches. After about 31 kilometers you reach Nußdorf a. Inn. Above stands the pilgrimage church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary in Kirchenwald, residents from surrounding districts had to walk through the mountain forest to get to church on Sundays, hence the name "Kirchenwald". The route continues towards Prien am Chiemsee, with the possibility of stopping at the St. Florian pilgrimage church in Frasendorf, which was built more than 500 years ago. On the road between Prien and Wildwart, the pilgrimage church of St. Salvator is enthroned in the Rimstinger district. A look inside the church is definitely worthwhile. At the end of the 10 stage you reach Maria Stern a pilgrimage church in Neukirchen am Simsee, this modern renovated white church towers on the outskirts of the village. After another 28 kilometers you come to Tuntenhaus, here is one of the oldest pilgrimage churches in Old Bavaria, the pilgrimage basilica of the Assumption of Mary. The next stop is the pilgrimage church Weihenlinden and parish church to the Holy Trinity, this is located further in the direction of Munich and is about 11 kilometers from Tuntenhausen. A pilgrimage museum is set up for viewing above the sacristy. About 15 kilometers further on, you come to the pilgrimage church Maria Morgenstern in Lippertskirchen. This is the landmark of Bad Feilenbad and at the same time part of the Way of St. James. The last pilgrimage church on our long pilgrimage is the pilgrimage church Schwarzlack. It is beautifully situated on the slope of the Sulzberg above the Inn Valley. Now you still have about 27 kilometers and a few stages ahead of you until you get back to the starting point - the beautiful Marienbrunnen.

No luggage transfer is offered in Kufsteinerland for this long-distance hiking trail.
