The Birds

Aristophanes’ play “The Birds” tells of the search for the utopian cloud cuckoo land – a city in the clouds where everything is better. But as it turns out, this place does not exist. Not yet. It has to be built first. But it is not the people, it is the birds who build cloud cuckoo land – and in the process also seize power over humans and gods.
This comedy, which is over 2,400 years old, is considered a timeless satire on all-too-human character traits such as the striving for power, selfishness and stubbornness.
