O.R.k. (USA, GB, I) & LizZard (GB, FR)

LizZard are a terrific power rock/metal trio consisting of the outstanding drummer Katy Elwell, William Knox on bass and Mathieu Ricou on vocals and guitar. Now they are in Kufstein for the 3rd time (supporting Adrian Belew and O.R.k.) and present their 4th album "Eroded". Stormbringer.at: "Blown Away" probably fits it better here. The groove thunderstorm that the three of them let sweep over the listener creates goosebumps. O.R.k. are an all-star quartet and a band of bandleaders. Pat Mastelotto (King Crimson), Colin Edwin (Ex-Porcupine Tree), LEF Lorenzo Esposito Fornasari (Berserk!, Obake) and Carmelo Pipitone (Marta Sui Tubi) also present their 4th album "Screamnasium". Press comments: "...this insane voice of LEF together with the outstanding skills of his fellow musicians on their instruments as well as the sophisticated songwriting makes this disc a very special one of its kind." (Myrevelations.com) Rocks 8/10: "...embark on a quest for the most slamming riff, the most driving rhythm and the greatest possible dynamics. ...more than enough tasteful riffing, a punchy production and the lyrical finger on the pulse of these difficult times. ... Never overloaded and always serving the song." Classsic Rock: "...combines deep emotion with craftsmanship." Metal Hammer: "The excellent quartet's fourth album SCREAMNASIUM is characterized above all by great emotion and craftsmanlike determination... ...an album that lacks nothing prog fans could wish for..." eclipsed 8/10 (RIYL: Audioslave; Alter Bridge; Threshold): #2 Radar (soundcheck) "The illustrious circle around Colin Edwin and Pat Mastelotto honors us with an album that has more of alternative rock of the Primal Scream/Pearl Jam brand than of prog à la Porcupine Tree/King Crimson.... ...Frontman LEF sings like Italy's Chris Cornell, guitarist Carmelo Pipitone does a lot of interesting things, and Colin Edwin and Pat Mastelotto bring in a lot of unconventional ideas that work great in context." Break Out: "Cool, awesome record!!!"
