MAINFELT - Royal Rover Tour 2020

Mainfelt are back at the start! Rough, indomitable and full of exuberant energy, the South Tyrolean folk rock heroes will continue to sweep the stages in 2020 and will put their audience in ecstasy in no time at all. The boys around singer and guitarist Patrick Strobl, whose distinctive voice still evokes images of endless road trips through vast landscapes and celebrated nights in smoky desert bars, have become a little more mature in the meantime. But Mainfelt have lost nothing of their uncompromising passion and irresistible joy of playing. More than ever, the band sounds like what it has always been: the feeling of boundless freedom and infectious joie de vivre!

Royal Rover is the title of the current tour, which aptly describes the music and character of the likeable quartet: "handcrafted and heartmade" in the most casual way, with cool hobo charm, but at the same time with almost majestic force. Patrick and his comrades-in-arms Klaus Telfser (bass), Ivan Miglioranza (banjo) and Manuel Gschnitzer (drums) are constantly expanding their repertoire, restlessly writing new songs and perfecting them in their stirring concerts, while they are always exploring and expanding their stylistic boundaries. Mainfelt are always unmistakably themselves, and so, without the band denying their Americana roots, new elements become recognizable: Besides the usual core structure of rattling banjo riffs and driving acoustic guitar, fresh keyboard and piano sounds point the way into the future and let here and there also delicately melancholic facets show up, until the songs finally lead into those irresistible hymn-like choruses, which are sung at the top of their throats by the constantly growing Mainfelt fan community on both sides of the burner. If you missed them live so far, you can do it next spring, when Mainfelt will let it crack as royally as only a real Royal Rover can!
