The brave Gerda embarks on an adventurous journey to rescue her friend Kay, who has been kidnapped by the mysterious Snow Queen. The queen lives in a glittering palace of ice and loves games—but her rules are as unpredictable as she is. Along her path through magical landscapes, Gerda meets the kind-hearted forest fairy Liora, who supports her with wisdom and protection, and is accompanied by a cheeky squirrel named Nuss.

In a magnificent palace, a scatterbrained king and a wise queen help her prepare for the cold expanses ahead. Eventually, she encounters a band of young robbers, led by a charismatic captain who proudly wears golden trousers.

In the icy palace of the Snow Queen, Gerda finds Kay, trapped in the spell of an apparently endless game. Whether her strength and love are enough to free him—you’ll find out when the Stadttheater Kufstein once again declares: "Once upon a time, long, long ago, when miracles were still real..."
