Yeast dough juggling, acrobatics, Gstanzl, bottle running, Schuhplatteln, pub brawling, and roaring, subversive laughter
In an Austrian pub, circus, text, dance, and satire merge into a Gstanzl full of tradition and fresh ideas.
At the STAMMTISCH, questions like “Whose side are you on?” are discussed, laughed at, argued over, and sung in the best pub manner. Between poetic monologues and hearty shout duels, everything is on the table: Can tradition be separated from conservatism? Was everything better in the past? Can a feminist milk cows? And can one balance bottles instead of drinking beer?
Juggling, bottle running, handstands, and dance acrobatics intersect with dialect, text, and live music. Four artists – Verena, Nina, Marielle, and Ariane – humorously and sharply illuminate gender roles, the urban-rural divide, and pub wisdom.
The show invites you to playfully question the light and dark sides of traditions and discover new perspectives.
