CABARET - The Musical

Berlin at the beginning of the 1930s. Cliff Bradshaw, a young American writer, travels to Berlin to find inspiration for his novel . On the train ride there, a passenger promptly arranges a cheap room for him in Fräulein Schneiders' boarding house and also suggests a visit to the Kit Kat Klub - supposedly "Berlin's hottest club". There Cliff meets the English singer Sally Bowles . She is the star of the show, and not only because of her artistic talent. When Sally is fired, she takes refuge in Cliff's boarding house room and the two become a couple. Luck also meets two other boarding house residents. Mr. Schultz, a fruit vendor, successfully courts the widowed boarding house landlady, Fräulein Schneider. But when it is discovered at the engagement party that soon follows that Schultz is Jewish, the germinating ideology of National Socialism takes hold and puts the relationship to a hard test. But Cliff and Sally are also confronted with increasingly threatening future scenarios. Sally's desperate attempt to survive in the wicked world of the nightclub without being pulverized by the increasingly radical socio-political sentiments advances more and more to a fateful dance on the volcano.
