Around the World in 80 days
Jules Verne's fascinating adventure story of a journey around the world in just 80 days is set in 1872. At that time, such an undertaking could still have been called what many of Verne's other stories still are: Science Fiction. Inspired by the novel, American journalist Nellie Bly succeeded in traveling around the world by public transportation in 1889. In memory of Bly we decided to stage our stage adaptation with a female "Phileas Fogg". Among many other interpretations, "Around the World in 80 Days" can also be seen as an ode to the benefits of public transportation.
Kufstein English Theatre is a project of the International School Kufstein Tirol. Every year, all 10th grade students and the 12th grade students with a theater focus put on a play in English. In addition to classics of world literature, plays written by the students themselves are also performed.
