Alicia Edelweiss Band + Support Act: Lukas Lauermann Solo

Alicia Edelweiss - Vocals, Accordion, Ukulele
Matthias Frey - Violin
Lukas Lauermann - Cello

Alicia Edelweiss is an Austrian-British musician based in Vienna. She began her musical career as a street musician and at the age of 19 she travelled throughout Europe for two years. In her search for freedom and travelling without money she soon discovered her passion and talent for music - at that time armed only with a guitar. During her time in Portugal she also started to play the accordion, which would become her trademark. Gradually she got bored as a hippie singer-songwriter and decided to return to Vienna to explore new ways of performing and telling stories. In 2018 her performance at the renowned 4-day Popfest Wien (Vienna Pop Festival), accompanied by her new band for cello and violin, was described as "one of the most touching, intimate and at the same time entertaining performances of the whole Popfest. "Her long-awaited first professional studio album "When I'm enlightened, everything will be better" was released in September 2019. The songs tell personal stories, wrapped in the magical language of poetry, dreams, legends - web stories of sublime inspiration, light-hearted humour, bittersweet irony and deep sadness, touching the highest and deepest chords of human experience: These songs stay with you. Lukas Lauermann solo - cello, electronics. "Cello sounds from a distant world, a concentrate of the most beautiful things possible." (Falter Jahrescharts) Electronically enhanced, barrier-free - modern - classical compositions that fill heart and brain. Lukas Lauermann, born 1985 in Vienna, works as a live and studio musician, arranger and composer with bands and artists such as Donauwellenreiter, Alicia Edelweiss, Soap&Skin, Der Nino from Vienna, Mira Lu Kovacs and Ritornell. Last works as studio musician for Wanda, André Heller and Tocotronic. Theatre and performance projects with Gelatin, Saint Genet, etc. are also part of his activities, as well as music productions for radio plays and film. Over 40 publications have already been produced in the course of collaborations.
