Abokonzert 'Closer to Paradise'

Who doesn't know longing - that achingly beautiful feeling between melancholy and happiness. In the program “Closer to Paradise”, Valer Sabadus and the Ensemble Spark weave works by Handel, Vivaldi, Schumann, rock songs and much more into a beguiling unity.

As part of the city's cultural program, a search for meaning will take place on 28 May at 19:30 in the Kultur Quartier Kufstein. For longing, happiness but also utopia. Different aspects of this universal state of mind will be illuminated in four acts. Each of the four parts is sung in a different language and focuses on a different era.

Valer Sabadus. With his crystal-clear, androgynous voice, he sings in the ranks of the world's best countertenors. His repertoire includes the major opera roles in his field, as well as specially conceived song and aria recitals. In 2020, Valer Sabadus was awarded the prestigious Handel Prize of the City of Halle. S

park - the classical band. It rethinks classical music. The quintet puts Bach, Vivaldi, Mozart & co. in a fresh context with a contemporary attitude to life. Styles are mixed with relish and nonchalance. Founded in 2007 and awarded the ECHO Klassik prize in 2011, the group has firmly established itself at the forefront of the young creative classical music scene. Together they are Spark.

This event is an equivalent replacement for the actual 5th subscription concert “Vivaldi and his time” in June 2024, which had to be postponed to the next season.
