Tölzer Knabenchor - ALPEN COUNTRY CHRISTMAS

Boys' choirs at Christmas time - this connection stands for a special musical magic, for bell-bright voices and shining children's eyes. The Alpine Christmas of the Tölzer Knabenchor is a round of well-known and unknown Alpine melodies, a 'soundtrack' of the Christmas season between contemplation and jubilation. Programmatically, the concert is divided into the "Annunciation", the "Search for a Hostel", up to the "Shepherds" at the "Manger".

With this concert, the Tölzer Knabenchor offers an equally contemplative and festive Christmas atmosphere for the whole family. Christmas texts and stories framed and accompanied by contemplative harp and accordion playing merge into a unique Christmas narrative that combines the biblical plot with the Alpine landscape and culture.

Founded 65 years ago, the Tölzer Knabenchor is now one of the most famous boys' choirs in the world. It is deeply rooted in the cultural tradition of Bavaria and at the same time is influenced by the many European musical trends of the past and present. The choir's repertoire spans all areas of choral singing from the Baroque to the present with a special emphasis on the works of Johann Sebastian Bach, as well as the important boys' parts of the opera literature. Concerts this Christmas season will take the Tölzer Knabenchor to venues including the Alte Oper in Frankfurt, the Blaibach Concert Hall and Füssen Festival Hall, Dresden's Frauenkirche, and Munich's Herkulessaal.
