Bayreuth, 1882: Tumult in Wagner's wordy wondrous Christmas play. The "Parsifal" has turned out too short! In order for the stage magic to unfold in sync with the music, a few measures are missing. "What now, do I have to compose by the meter!", rants Wagner, who would be astonished by how today's technical finesse reduces timing stress.
