Piano Days of Tyrol festival Erl - Tschaikowsky & Rachmaninow
The two orchestra concerts on Saturday and Sunday of this year's Piano Days of the Tyrolean Festival Erl are entirely dedicated to Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninov. On Saturday evening pianist Kit Armstrong under the baton of Karsten Januschke (New Year's Concert 2020) will delight the guests with Tchaikovsky's dramatic and passionate "Fantasy Overture" from "Romeo and Juliet" as well as excerpts from "The Nutcracker".
Of course, the famous harp parade piece "The Flower Waltz" will also be performed. Rachmaninov pays tribute to Armstrong and Januschke with the Piano Concertos No. 1 and No. 4. Two piano concertos, by the way, which have wrongly not achieved the fame of the 2nd or 3rd piano concerto. In terms of virtuosity and musical ingenuity they are in no way inferior to them.
