SPURWECHSEL: Kufstein wird zum offenen Atelier

SPURWECHSEL – OPEN SPACE: Sculptural Perspectives in Kufstein

July 21 – September 6, 2025

From July 21 to September 6, 2025, Kufstein transforms into a seven-week showcase of sculpture, performance, and art in public spaces. The sculptor symposium SPURWECHSEL – OPEN SPACE brings together international artists and local materials, everyday locations and surprising interventions – and invites the city to view itself from new perspectives.

Held for the first time, the symposium brings artworks to the most iconic locations of Kufstein’s fortress town: including the Fortress, Arkadenplatz, and the city park.

Observe, marvel, participate – the public is encouraged not only to admire the art but to witness its creation live: From July 21 to 30, visitors can watch the artists at work.

Art as a Dialogue with the City

Eight artists from Austria, Germany, and Italy – including Alois Schild, Erika Inger, Wolfgang Wohlfahrt, Götz Bury, and Anneliese Sojer – will work with stone, metal, natural materials, and recycled objects. Their shared theme: “Spurwechsel” – a conscious shift in perspective, turning the city into a space for reflection.

“SPURWECHSEL brings art to eye level – right into the heart of the fortress town and the Kufsteinerland region. The tourism board is a proud partner of this first-time sculptor symposium,” says Sabine Mair, CEO of the Kufsteinerland Tourism Board.
