Tour description

A short panoramic circular tour which nonetheless requires a good level of fitness, heading to the Aschinger-Alm with the impressive Zahmer Kaiser in the backdrop providing superb views to the Inn Valley and Lake Walchsee. For gourmets, a trip to the cheese dairy on Aschinger-Alm is well worthwhile. On the way back, recharge your batteries at the ‘energy-filled’ place, St. Nikolaus church.

From the centre in the Haflinger village of Ebbs, start right from the church square and follow the Kaiserberg road (between the church and the hotel Oberwirt) to Buchberg. The asphaltic route leads steadily uphill and passes Café Zacherl and lots of charming mountain farms up to Oberbuchberg. After a 500 meters flat section, you proceed through a short section in the forest, and finally via the guesthouse Gasthof Kölnberg (refreshment stop) to Alpengasthof Aschinger-Alm. Descend directly below the Aschinger-Alm left via the forest and a gravel road to Asching (route: Aschinger-Alm-Tour). At the end of this passage turn left at the parking space for hikers along the asphaltic road via the ‘energy-filled’ place, St. Nikolaus church over a short steep part back to Ebbs.
