Reading - Radek Knapp - Kufstein
In his unique style, Radek Knapp tells of the involuntary emigration of twelve-year-old Valerian from Poland to Vienna. His school career is short and ends with his expulsion. When his mother also puts him on the street, he costs in his new place the feeling of freedom - and the acquaintance with mold. He deals with odd jobs and penetrates into deeper and deeper layers of Viennese life. There he meets with little sympathy for people from across the border and learns a lot about the limits of good taste and legality. At some point he understands that "at home" can be anywhere - if he manages to find his own way.
