"Quite normal", mountaineering lecture
For the Ötztal math and sports teacher and mountain guide Hansjörg Auer, GANZ NORMAL may be different than we imagine. Hansjörg Auer has been climbing since he was 12 years old. On April 29, 2007, the then 23-year-old managed a free-solo ascent of the "Path through the Fish" in the Marmolada south face. For which Zweierseilschaften needs two days, he made the ascent in two hours and 55 minutes.
»ALPINISM IS A PASSION THAT LIES BETWEEN REASON AND IRREGULARITY. I LOVE PLAYING PASSIONATE. "
In his talk, he talks about his passion for free solo climbing and takes us from the wintry peaks and towers of the Alps to the mountains of Nepal and Pakistan. The first ascent of Kunyang Chhish East (7400m) in the Karakorum Mountains over the 2700m high southwest face is one of the highlights of his career. But he will also talk about his darkest moment so far, which he had to experience in autumn 2015 on Nilgiri South.
