Gerhard Mangott - Kufsteiner night talk
Theme: Revisionist Russia - a power that is ready for violence and insecure
Russia has shown itself over the past decade as an aggressive, risk-averse and aggressive state. The war in Georgia in 2008, the intervention in Ukraine since 2014 and Russia's military intervention in the Syrian civil war since 2015 document this clearly. Russia aims to change Europe's regional security order and wants to increase its status and influence in the international order. How powerful is the great power Russia and where are its weaknesses. How will the relationship with the EU, the US and China develop over the next few years?
Gerhard Mangott is a University Professor for International Relations at the University of Innsbruck and a lecturer at the Diplomatic Academy in Vienna and is regularly consulted as an expert on Russia issues in many media.
