While "Vrouwenzimmer" in the 15th century referred to the chamber of a princess, the word was later used derogatorily for individual unconventional and non-conformist women: a "dissolute woman's room". Women among themselves, on the other hand, saw this term as a kind of freedom - “my room for myself” - which is still not self-evident and easy to implement today. In this exhibition, Susanna Schwarz, Maria Wetter, Mela Diamant (Die 3 Graces), Gabriele Gruber-Gisler and Ruth Effer address the topic in an artistic way and use various techniques to design individual spaces for women who want to encourage reflection and dialogue.
