Ein Sommernachtstraum - Theater am Berg

A summer night's dream in the Kufstein mountains!
Last summer the ensemble of the Stadttheater Kufstein received thunderous applause with everyone at the foot of the fortress. But this year they want to go even higher. The most famous and successful comedy of the millennium poet William Shakespeare is performed at an altitude of over 1200 metres above sea level. After a leisurely ride in the chair lift, the audience can look forward to enjoying nature and culture in the Wilder Kaiser nature reserve. In the immediate vicinity of the Weinbergerhaus with a wonderful view of the craggy cliff top of the Scheffauer, a thirteen-person ensemble around director Klaus Reitberger presents an interpretation of the summer night's dream, partly classical, partly with a touch of local colour.
In the course of the plot, three worlds mix: the ornate hustle and bustle surrounding dangerous love affairs at the Fürstenhof; the honest striving of a troupe of simple craftsmen who want to play theatre; and the magical machinations of the fairies and goblins of the night. Amourish encounters, fateful love spells and a donkey in the moonlight are the cause of their mischief. It may be laughed! And dreamed!
