Alexander Huber „Sehnsucht Torre“ - Kufstein
They are inspiring stories about yearning and seeking happiness. Desire is a longing, it makes us curious, it lets us search and find. Yearning Torre is a wild road trip of my soul: weird, bluesy guitar riffs of a jam session with my band "Plastic Surgery Disaster" take me on a journey to the other side of the world - Patagonia, the land of "Cerro Torre". A wild mountain, which carries the desire of many climbers in itself. My longing is also found in this steep icy granite needle drawn by the Patagonian winds. A mountain that tells a part of my life story: There are successes, defeats, losses. It is the sadness, seemingly unimportant experiences and they are big moments, it is my diary as a mountaineer. In 2005, I am traveling for the first time in these mountains and the Cerro Torre became the real picture of my yearning. I wanted to climb the mountain on a perfect new line. Exceeding all the peaks of the Torre Massif became a great challenge of my inner aspiration. In the first year I came very far. Together with the Swiss Andi Schnarf we climbed non-stop for 30 hours over the Cerro Standhart to the Torre Egger. Years follow with less eventful actions on these mountains and yet they have always been unique moments. Moments of inspiration for new challenges.
