Adventure and a Natural Jewel
The narrow path leads down to the brook. The noise gets louder. The water splashes over the moss-covered stones. Little waterfalls. The rock walls rise up steeply to left and right. The path continues. Right through the middle of the water. From one stone to the next. Balance yourself. Jump. The sunlight causes the water to sparkle. Nearly untouched. Picturesque. Wild. Solitary. A green, natural jewel. The Glemmbachklamm at Thiersee.
In the Thiersee valley, south of Landl you will find a true Tyrolian natural paradise at the Glemmbachklamm. An el-dorado for all those who love adventure hiking. Through the forest. Along narrow paths. Right through the water. Several Alpine stations set up by the mountain rangers, provide additional enjoyment. The hike proceeds through the still rustic Klamm, takes about two and one-half hours and begins at the “Gschwandterbauern“ in the Ascherdorf / Landl neighborhood, then ends at the Riederberg neighborhood. Good balance and hiking shoes are a necessity along this demanding, but exceptionally idyllic hike. Since the brook has to be crossed several times with no bridge, it is recommended to pack beach shoes or old tennis shoes for wading through the water.
