SPECIAL: Vienna Transfigured Night
A musical-literary ramble that resurrects old Vienna at the beginning of the 20th century: the world of coffee houses and the old emperor Franz-Joseph, the light girls, the Prater, the exploration of the soul and the impossible multi-ethnic empire for which Robert Musil invented the name Kakanien. With music by Korngold, Brahms, Kreisler, Strauss and Schönberg as well as texts by Musil, Schnitzler, Roth, Altenberg and Dehmel. The speaker is the Munich actor Udo Wachtveitl, known to a large television audience as the "Tatort" Commissioner Leitmayr.
