La Guitarra - 4th International Guitar Festival

With THE POWER OF WO:MEN, LA GUITARRA ERL is sending a strong signal for the equal presence of female and male artistic personalities on stage from 11 to 14 August. Exceptional musicians and charismatic artists of fascinating charisma unfold musical diversity without borders.

The opening evening of La Guitarra Erl on 11 August will be captivating and atmospheric with strong rhythms and fascinating melodies. SONA JOBARTEH is considered the first important female kora virtuoso in Africa. The playing of the kora, an imposing West African harp instrument with 21 strings, was previously reserved for the men of a griot family. The charismatic multi-instrumentalist, singer and composer, who herself comes from one of the most important of these families, has broken with this rule. She effortlessly bridges the gap between ancient griot traditions and modern Afropop elements.

Highest level and stylistic diversity with music that makes hearts beat faster is promised on 12 August. JULIA MALISCHNIG, MANUEL RANDI, YULIYA LONSKAYA and LULO REINHARDT are four internationally respected guitar virtuosos who could not be more different. We can look forward to a musical fireworks display in a class of its own.

Youth promotion will again be integrated into the festival programme in 2022. The 13th of August is dedicated to LA GUITARRA NEXT GENERATION and offers students and teachers the opportunity to participate in the course "Young Master Class" with the Tyrolean guitar teacher STEFAN HACKL. In the LA GUITARRA NEXT GENERATION IN CONCERT impulse concert, young talents from the Tyrolean Provincial Music School and the Tyrolean Provincial Conservatory's talent promotion programme will present themselves in the foyer of the Festspielhaus at 6.30 pm.
